Innovation begets innovation. It cascades. When we innovate in one area, we're often compelled to innovate in others. As Jim McKelvey frames it, innovation tends to create a nested series of consequences. We innovate in one space, "so we have to" introduce another innovation to support it. We want to achieve x; to enable that, we have to achieve y.
